Adam had a super hero party for his 5th birthday. We started by having the heros draw a mural while we waited for all the heroes arrive. By 11:10 we had three Supergirls, a Superman, a Superdog, a Batman, a Superprincess, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, a Wonderwoman, and someone dresses as a nicely dressed little boy. We kicked off the party with introductions followed by the superhero oath. Next we decorated paper airplanes and tried to fly the close to a target. We played freeze dancing to superhero theme songs, a version of musical chairs, and a game to identify sounds using our superpower hearing. Then Wonderwoman's dad read a Superhero story. After the story we sat down for pizza and cake.
Everyone had a great time and was ready for some serious crime fighting.
Here are some pictures from my phone. I will try to post pictures from my camera later.
Today was Bryan's birthday. In the morning we greeted Bryan with a Pooh balloon. I tried to get him the Elmo balloon the night before, but they were no longer carrying it, or anything else he would have wanted. Bryan did seem to like the balloon so I didn't feel that horrible that I waited till the last possible second to get him a balloon. At dinner we gave him a piece of cake with a candles in it, which he wouldn't touch. I wasn't surprised because he was already upset because the only thing he wanted to eat was lasagne which we didn't have. Since Bryan really likes playing with basketballs, and footballs we decided to give him a basketball hoop for his birthday which he loved.
For my birthday we all went to a daytime concert at Wolf Trap featuring Steve Songs, and then out for lunch. So far its been a good day.
Ron was in town, which was nice, and took me out to a pre-birthday dinner at TenPenh. It seems like a million years ago that we shared an apartment on 16th st, in DC. It got me thinking about the previous places that I lived:
- Wynnridge Rd (Fayetteville, NY)
- Camp Seneca Lake (Penn Yan, NY)
- University of Hartford (West Hartford, CT)
- Pennsylvania Ave (Ithaca, NY)
- Hudson St (Ithaca, NY)
- 16th St, NW (Washington, DC)
- Quebec St, NW (Washington, DC)
- South Scott St (Arlington, VA)
For my 40th birthday Debbie rented me a Mini Cooper for the day. I had most of the day to cruise around the day with a friend. We went for BBQ and then saw the Simpson's movie. It was great to get 32 miles to the gallon, and not to have to worry if everyone has made pee pee.
Thanks for a great birthday!
Today is Adam's birthday. We arrive at the fire station as planned at 10:30 am and wait for them to open for his birthday. It was 11am, the official start time of his birthday, and no one that works at the station had arrived. We decided to move the party to the park. Everyone had a great time playing in the sun. Adam had a great time, but still wants to have his party at the station. The fireman said he wrote down the wrong time. We will have to make a special trip back to the station for "another special" birthday.
